Nanoastegotherium prostatum
Taxonomy
Nanoastegotherium prostatum was named by Carlini et al. (1997). Its type specimen is IGM 183912, an osteoderm (Numerous isolated dorsal carapace scutes), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Duke Locality 70 (La Venta Fauna), which is in a Laventan fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the La Victoria Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Nanoastegotherium.
