Taxonomy
Liomopterites ulterior was named by Aristov and Mostovski (2013). Its type specimen is NM 980, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Lidgetton (Lid 111), which is in a Changhsingian delta plain shale in the Estcourt Formation of South Africa.
