Taxonomy
Proceroplatus preziosii was named by Evenhuis and Penney (2013). Its type specimen is BPBM 17647, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Bucara mine (BPBM coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
