Taxonomy
Panorpodes weitschati was named by Soszyńska-Maj and Krzemiński (2013). Its type specimen is GPIM UH 192, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, GPIH collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
