Taxonomy
Cyttaromyia scudderi was named by Freiwald (1991). Its type specimen is FM 762, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Knudegrav, Fur, which is in a Ypresian offshore ramp claystone in the Ølst Formation of Denmark.
