Stenolestes iris
Taxonomy
Agrion iris was named by Heer (1879). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Zurich collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Coenagrion iris by Kirby (1890); it was recombined as Stenolestes iris by Scudder (1895), Nel (1986), Nel and Paicheler (1994), Archibald et al. (2021).
