Taxonomy
Chrysomelites alaskanus was named by Heer (1869). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is English Bay (Coal Cove), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian fluvial siltstone in the Tyonek Formation of Alaska. It is the type species of Chrysomelites.
