Taxonomy
Sphenomylacris singularis was named by Handlirsch (1906). It is an impression. Its type locality is Port Griffith railway cut, near Pittston, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial siliciclastic in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania. It is the type species of Sphenomylacris.
