Taxonomy
Loxoblatta bassleri was named by Cockerell (1927). It is an impression. Its type locality is Caldwell's Clay Mine, Big Savage Mt., which is in a Moscovian terrestrial claystone in the Allegheny Formation of Maryland.
It was recombined as Hemimylacris bassleri by Durden (1969).
