Enhydrini was named by Branden (1882). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Dineutini by Gustafson and Miller (2013) and Gustafson and Miller (2017); it was corrected as Enhydrusini by Bouchard and Bousquet (2020).

It was assigned to Gyrininae by Bouchard et al. (2011) and Bouchard and Bousquet (2020).
