Sucinorhagonycha was named by Kuśka (1996). Its type is Sucinorhagonycha kulickae.

It was assigned to Cantharidae by Kubisz (2000); to Cantharinae by Kazantsev (2013); to Cacomorphocerini by Fanti and Pankowski (2019), Kazantsev (2020), Fanti (2023), Pankowski and Fanti (2023); and to Cantharini by Kuśka (1996), Fanti (2017), Fanti (2017), Fanti and Pankowski (2018), Kazantsev and Perkovsky (2025).
