Taxonomy
Cantharis sucinonigra was named by Kuśka (1992). Its type specimen is MZ 18094, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Cantharis (Cantharis) sucinonigra by Kazantsev (2013), Fanti (2017), Fanti (2017).
