Soomylacris (Etoblattina) burri was named by Bolton (1912). It is an impression. Its type locality is Barfreston Boring, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Etomylacris.
It was recombined as Trilophomylacris burri by Handlirsch (1922); it was recombined as Soomylacris burri by Bolton (1922); it was recombined as Mylacris burri by Durden (1969); it was recombined as Sooblatta burri by Schneider (1983), Jarzembowski and Schneider (2007); it was recombined as Etomylacris burri by Handlirsch (1920), Santos et al. (2025).
