Taxonomy
Eudocimus leiseyi was named by Emslie (1995). Its type specimen is UF 80426, a limb element (left tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leisey Shell Pit 1A, which is in an Irvingtonian estuary/bay sandstone/siltstone in the Bermont Formation of Florida.
