Alvarezsauroidea

Taxonomy
Alvarezsauroidea was named by Choiniere et al. (2010) [based off Alvarezsauridae Bonaparte 1991]. Its type is Alvarezsaurus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Alvarezsauria by Agnolin et al. (2012); it was reranked as the unranked clade Alvarezsauroidea by Averianov and Lopatin (2021) and Kubo et al. (2023).

It was assigned to Coelurosauria by Xu et al. (2011); to Maniraptora by Choiniere et al. (2010) and Averianov and Lopatin (2021); and to Alvarezsauria by Kubo et al. (2023).
