Burhinus nanus (Bahama thick-knee)
Taxonomy
Burhinus nanus was named by Brodkorb (1959). Its type specimen is UF 3154, a set of postcrania (left coracoid), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banana Hole (UF collection), which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene sinkhole limestone in the Bahamas.
It was recombined as Burhinus bistriatus nanus by Olson and Hilgartner (1982).
