Taxonomy
Nettion greeni was named by Brodkorb (1964). Its type specimen is SDSM 63576, a limb element (right distal humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rice Ranch, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial horizon in South Dakota.
