Taxonomy
Leptotarsus martinsnetoi was named by Ribeiro and Lukashevich (2014). Its type specimen is MZUSP 1580, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (MZUSP collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
