Taxonomy
Taldycupes pingi was named by Ponomarenko et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NIGP 158304, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Houdong, Yinping Mountain, SW Chaohu City, which is in a Capitanian marine shale in the Yinping Formation of China.
