Taxonomy
Leja frequens was named by Loew (1850). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.

It was recombined as Leia frequens by Johannsen (1909), Evenhuis (1994), Oliveira and Amorim (2021).
