Cratonemopteryx audax

Taxonomy
Megalopteryx audax was named by Martins-Neto and Vulcano (1989). Its type specimen is CV-1187, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (Vulcano collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.

It was recombined as Cratonemopteryx audax by Martins-Neto (1997), Martins-Neto and Vulcano (1997), Martins-Neto (2000), Martins-Neto (2002), Martins-Neto et al. (2007), Lu et al. (2019).
