Omala fortestriata was named by Motschulsky (1845). It is extant.

It was recombined as Bembidion fortestriatum by Cong and Ashworth (1996) and Cong et al. (1996); it was recombined as Bembidion (Trepanedoris) fortestriatum by Maddison (2012) and Bousquet (2012).
