Taxonomy
Thracia trapezoides was named by Conrad (1849). It is extant.

It was corrected as Thracia trapezoidea by Arnold and Hannibal (1913) and Etherington (1931); it was recombined as Thracia (Thracia) trapezoides by Moore (1963); it was recombined as Thracia (Homoeodesma) trapezoides by Coan et al. (2000) and Hendy (2021).
