Pliodasypus vergelianus (armadillo)
Taxonomy
Pliodasypus vergelianus was named by Castro et al. (2014). Its type specimen is AMU-CURS 192A, an osteoderm (A complete buckler osteoderm), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Norte Casa Chiguaje, which is in a Pliocene fluvial conglomerate/sandstone in the San Gregorio Formation of Venezuela. It is the type species of Pliodasypus.
