Taxonomy
Mancicupes dilutes was named by Lin (1986). Its type specimen is NIGP 70062, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is KHG 74, Chengtanjiang section, Liuyang City, which is in a Rhaetian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Sanqiutang Formation of China.
It was recombined as Metrorhynchites dilutes by Ponomarenko et al. (2012).
