Taxonomy
Capitiperla tonicopoda was named by Lin (1992). Its type specimen is NIGP 86078, a nymph, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Kerjie, Toksun County, which is in a Carnian terrestrial horizon in the Huangshanjie Formation of China. It is the type species of Capitiperla.
