Taxonomy
Stenurothrips polonius was named by Schliephake (2001). Its type specimen is MZ 18780 TG, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
