Taxonomy
Palaeogetes ponomarenkoi was named by Novokshonov (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 3314/1, a hindwing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kankazgan (PIN collection 3314), which is in a Turonian terrestrial siliciclastic in Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Palaeogetes.
