Archimylacris pruvosti was named by Laurentiaux (1950). Its type specimen is GBNM Heerlen 26060(26037), an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Lens mines, pit 9, voie 313, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in France.
