Taxonomy
Zessinella siope was named by Brauckmann (1988). Its type specimen is FMW N1020, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Hagen-Vorhalle quarry (FMW collection), which is in a Marsdenian estuary/bay shale/sandstone in Germany.
