Taxonomy
Megastus elongatus was named by Roth (1898). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Canyons of Lower valley of Collón Cura River, which is in a Colloncuran terrestrial horizon in the Collón Cura Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Megastus.
