Taxonomy
Microlynx franzbesucheti was named by Kohring and Schlüter (1989). Its type specimen is Freie Universitat Berlin Sc TS 1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Sicilian amber (Freie Universität Berlin coll), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Italy. It is the type species of Microlynx.
