Carabus lampros was named by Herbst (1784). It is extant.

It was recombined as Bembidion lampros by Coope et al. (1961), Böcher (1995), Green et al. (2006); it was recombined as Metallina lampros by Tamutis et al. (2011); it was recombined as Bembidion (Metallina) lampros by Maddison (2012), Bousquet (2012).
