Emersonius cybosyrinx was named by Ross and Newman (1967). Its type specimen is AMNH 28462), an other, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abandoned limerock quarry, FL Highway 26 [Williston Limestone], which is in a Priabonian carbonate limestone in the Williston Limestone Formation of Florida.
