Taxonomy
Balanus (Hesperibalanus) cornwalli was named by Zullo (1966). Its type specimen is UCMP 12074, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP Loc. B-4255 - Cowtliz Fm type section [Cowlitz Fm], which is in a Bartonian offshore sandstone in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Solidobalanus (Hesperibalanus) cornwalli by Zullo (1982).
