It was reranked as the subtribe Kalcapiina by Bouchard et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Apionini by Bouchard et al. (2011); to Apioninae by Legalov and Bukejs (2014), Legalov (2015); and to Aspidapiitae by Alonso-Zarazaga (1990), Legalov (2012), Legalov (2019).
