Leptura versicolorea was named by Brahm (1790). It is extant.

It was recombined as Donacia (Donaciomima) versicolorea by Hayashi et al. (2003); it was recombined as Donacia (Donacia) versicolorea by Hayashi (1999), Hayashi et al. (2005).
