Doydirhynchinae was named by Pierce (1916). It is extant.

It was reranked as the tribe Doydirhynchini by Legalov (2012), Gratshev and Legalov (2014), Legalov (2015).

It was assigned to Nemonychidae by Lawrence and Newton (1995); and to Cimberidinae by Legalov (2012), Gratshev and Legalov (2014), Legalov (2015).
