Taxonomy
Buisnictis chisoensis was named by Stevens and Stevens (2003). Its type locality is Screw Bean, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial sandstone/conglomerate in the Banta Shut-In Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Martinogale chisoensis by Wang et al. (2005).
