Taxonomy
Encrinuroides torulatus was named by Evitt and Tripp (1977). Its type specimen is USNM 217490, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Frencrinuroides torulatus by Edgecombe et al. (1998); it was recombined as Physemataspis torulatus by Moss and Westrop (2014).
