Taxonomy
Axiopsis pawpawensis was named by Franţescu (2014). Its type specimen is USNM 558710, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Residential development off Harmon Road, which is in an Albian offshore shale in the Pawpaw Formation of Texas.
