Taxonomy
Apion (Electrapion) kuntzeni was named by Wagner (1924). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Zoological Museum, Humboldt Univ Berlin (ZHMB MfN) Collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Electrapion kuntzeni by Alonso-Zarazaga and Lyal (1999), Legalov (2015), Legalov (2019).
