Taxonomy
Tichosina insolita was named by Cooper (1979). Its type specimen is USNM 550334 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM Loc. 818b, Marroqui, which is in an Eocene marine conglomerate in the Taguasco Formation of Cuba.
