Taxonomy
Sinalda applanata was named by Golub and Popov (2005). Its type specimen is Hoffeins 1427, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Hoffeins/Deutsches Entomologische Institut collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
