Taxonomy
Tipula eva was named by Krzemiński (1992). Its type specimen is PIN 2708/4, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Verkhne-bureinskaya Depression, core sample 22-23, Bed 8, depth 151.9-162.5m, which is in an Albian terrestrial horizon in the Kyndal Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Leptotarsus eva by Shih et al. (2015).
