Taxonomy
Thyrohyrax libycus was named by Coster et al. (2015). Its type specimen is Z7I-9, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zallah 7 Incision, which is in an Oligocene fluvial-deltaic sandstone in Libya.
