Taxonomy
Cretolucanus ordinarius was named by Nikolajev (2007). Its type specimen is PIN 2385/1089, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Pad Semen (PIN collection 2385), which is in an Aptian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Argun Formation of the Russian Federation.
