Ophiotitanos was named by Spencer (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ophiolepidinae by Spencer and Wright (1966); to Ophiurida by Sepkoski (2002); to Ophiodermatidae by Jagt (2000), Storc and Zitt (2008); and to Ophiurinae by Thuy and Kroh (2011).
