Taxonomy
Bembidium assimilis was named by Gyllenhal (1810). It is extant. It is the type species of Bembidion (Diplocampa).

It was recombined as Bembidion assimile by Keen et al. (1997), Green et al. (2006); it was recombined as Bembidion (Diplocampa) assimile by Maddison (2012).
