Tegehotherium burmeisteri
Taxonomy
Tegehotherium burmeisteri was named by Ameghino (1904). Its type specimen is MACN-PV 2540, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chubut River Valley, Gaiman (Ameghino), which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Tegehotherium.
